Questions to think about

With tensiometers we measure the pressure in the soil water relative to the atmospheric pressure. A water-filled tube with a ceramic cup is inserted into the soil. The water in the pore space of the cup wall hydrologically links the soil water with the water inside the tensiometer. The pressure inside the tensiometer water is measured with a manometer, for instance with a U-tube manometer or an electric pressure transducer.
